Robert Henri, Painter
Etching, Jan., 1931
A rare proof of the sixth state of eight
Ref: Morse 246 VI/VIII
13 7/8 x 10 7/8 inches; 352 x 276 mm.
Signed, annotated 100 proofs & working p(roof) JS imp; printed on buff wove paper with side margins.
An edition of 100 was intended, but only 60 were printed, 30 of the 7th state and 30 of the 8th state. Only a few proofs of each state were printed prior to the 7th state, even though this one is annotated 100 proofs. A slightly smaller first version of this subject was etched in 1904 (Morse 115), and abandoned after 2 or 3 proofs were printed.
